Breastfeeding Fashion with Simply Be

Breastfeeding fashion [Ad- Review]

If I thought that dressing my bump when I was pregnant was tough, that was a walk in the park compared to finding breastfeeding fashion I liked. At least when pregnant, there is a specific place to search in shops or online. Although there are some shops that sell dedicated nursing wear, I found them to be expensive and often frumpy. I wanted to be able to wear normal clothes that I enjoyed and have easy access to feed without my clothes screaming out that I’m a breastfeeding mum.

When Simply Be got in touch with me to see if I’d like to try out some of their clothes, I decided to challenge myself to find some lovely items that I could easily feed in. For me, breastfeeding fashion should still be fun and allow me to feel like me.

I found that there was a huge range of items to choose from on the Simply Be website. There were even plenty of high street brands available on the website, such as Oasis and Monsoon. I have to admit that I used to think that Simply Be only stocked larger sizes. However, their ranges start from a size 12, making them much more inclusive for a huge range of women.

I love dresses, so that’s the section I headed to first, with a specific focus on suitable breastfeeding fashion. I looked out for items with buttons, zips and wrap over tops for easy access.

The first item I chose was a blue denim pinafore dress (£30). It features a zip front making it perfect for breastfeeding with a feeding top underneath. I love that its really versatile and I can create lots of different looks with the dress, by changing the top I wear underneath. I can also chose tights or leggings to go with the dress, or bare legs in the summer. This dress is great in that it can be worn as a casual style, maybe with trainers, or more dressed up with heels or boots. I also love that it has pockets too!

I’ve always had chunky calves so always struggle to find knee high boots that fit me. I found these black boots (£45) and absolutely love them. They are a lovely soft fabric, and they fit me really well as they come in a wider fit option. I love them teamed with the two dresses that I chose. They are also wide enough for me to wear over skinny jeans too. I know they are going to feature in my outfits a lot over the coming months.

The second dress I chose was a purple check shirt dress (£22). It has buttons down, again making it really easy to feed in. I just wore a feeding vest top underneath for warmth. I love the bright colour and found the material lovely and soft. The dress is a great length for me, as I prefer for my bum to be nicely covered. The tie at the waist also gave the dress a lovely cinched in shape, without it being too clingy. I wore the dress with leggings and my new boots, it would also be great in the warmer weather with sandals.

I’m really pleased with the breastfeeding fashion items that I found from Simply Be. I hope I’ve proven that you don’t have to spend lots on specific nursing items and that great breastfeeding fashion can be achieved easily from our favourite normal retailers.

Disclaimer: I was gifted the items from Simply Be for the purpose of this post on breastfeeding fashion. All views and opinions are entirely my own.

I couldn’t agree more: I also found it really easy to find pregnancy clothes, but when it came to breastfeeding-friendly clothes, it was a really nightmare. I absolutely love your dress: it’s perfect for breastfeeding and doesn’t look remotely mumsy! xxx

Thank you, I really wanted things that still felt like me and things that I’d wear after I’d finished feeding too.

I had two winter babies, and it was such a pain finding nice looking yet comfortable nursing fashion that didn’t require peeling off hundreds of layers. Love your choices!
