Having visited Planet Ice for a skating lesson this Summer, Mini was very excited to be returning to watch their performance of Cinderella on Ice. She is a big Disney fan and decided to wear her own Cinderella dress for the show.
I was really looking forward to the show with Mini, being a big Disney fan myself too. However, Baby Mack had others ideas and was too unsettled for me to leave him for the evening. Mr Mack stepped in and took Mini for a Daddy and Daughter evening. I enjoyed hearing all about how much fun they had together when they got back.
The seats were unallocated, so they made sure they arrived a little early to pick some good seats. Mini chose to sit on the higher seats above the ice rink for a good view. This did mean that she was behind a meshed grid. Whilst it didn’t impact upon the viewing ability, it did mean that Mr Mack wasn’t able to get as good photos as normal.
Cinderella on Ice told the traditional fairy tale story that we all know and love. However, there were lots of beautiful and spell-binding dance performances on the ice to bring the story alive. There were plenty of special effects including fire and light up costumes, which added to the experience.
Having had a taste of how tricky ice skating is herself, Mini was very impressed at how graceful the performers were. She loved watching how fast they skated and was in awe at the jumps and tricks they performed on the ice. She told me about the pirouettes and was particularly impressed at the skating on one leg!
Mr Mack told me that Mini was so excited when the dancers came onto the ice. She danced along in her seat for the whole of the first half. I definitely think she will be on the stage herself one day.
Cinderella on Ice was the perfect evening out for festive family fun. Mini was glued to the performance the whole time. Getting to see the show on the ice really added a magical touch to the performance and made it even more special to watch. I will make sure I keep an eye out for future performances at Planet Ice, and hopefully Baby Mack will enjoy coming along too. Top tip is to take a few layers along as it can be a little chilly inside the ice rink.
