Getting into the Christmas Spirit

I have always found Christmas to be a magical time of year however, since having Mini the magic just gets better as I have the chance to see it through her eyes too.

Once the Christmas season has started I like to plan family activities so that we can spend time together and get into the Christmas spirit. This year we are very excited to be going to see The Snowman Tour at Coventry Cathedral. Growing up there were some special family traditions around Christmas time and now that I have a family of my own it would be great to have our own traditions, I think that seeing a festive show will definitely be one of ours.

I haven’t told Mini that we are going yet as she is struggling with the concept of time and how long you have to wait for things, if I told her she would want to go straight away. However, I know that when I do tell her she will be really excited, she has already seen some Christmas things in shops and has asked if its time for Christmas yet?

The Snowman Tour 2017 – What’s included?

The show will include a screening of The Snowman film accompanied by a live orchestra. I’m super excited and think that the live music played in the dramatic environment of the cathedral will give such a magical and Christmassy effect.

The perforamce will also include a screening of The Bear and the Piano, with a recorded narration by Joanna Lumley, and also accompanied by the live band. The performance will also include a special visit from the Snowman himself.

I know that some of you will be thinking its too early to be thinking of Christmas but last year we missed out on going to a few things that we wanted to do as they were fully booked up.

The tickets are selling fast and some of the venues have already sold out so we were very lucky to get tickets. The show has also been featured in The Guardian, Sunday Times and The Telegraph “Top things to do at Christmas”.

The show will be performed over 46 shows in 15 venues including 7 cathedrals; Chester, Coventry, York, Worcester, Lichfield, Liverpool, and Durham. Each performance will include a solo performance by a young local of the classic  song from the film, “Walking in the Air.”

Tickets are available to buy here.

I would love you to share your family Christmas traditions with me and how you like to get into the Christmas spirit together.
