My children both have bucket loads of energy, so I’m always on the look out for activities to burn some of it off. Inflatanation sounded like the perfect place for them to run, bounce and jump around. We were recently invited to the opening of the brand new Inflatanation branch in West Bromwich at the Astle Retail Park.
Inflatanation is a huge inflatable play area, perfect for all the family. I’d not visited anything like this before so was looking forward to putting it to the test. As soon as we entered, I was blown away by how large the inflatable space was, it was much bigger than I was expecting.
We couldn’t wait to get our shoes off and go for a bounce. Mr Mack took Baby Mack into the dedicated under 4s area and I took Mini for an explore. The under 4s area is a great idea, meaning little ones are safe to play without fear of being trampled on. There are also separate Inflatatots sessions on the timetable just for pre-schoolers to play and explore the whole of the inflatable area.
Mini and I went to play on the slides. There were two straight slides and two wavy ones next to each other that are great fun to race each other down. I was surprised how fast they were and so much fun! There is also another that drops you onto a ledge where you have to try to jump off and land onto the target below. Mini hit the target first time, I had a much less graceful landing.
In the centre of the Inflatanation space is a huge bouncy area, separate play equipment is around the edge of the bouncy floor. There were so many different area to explore. There was a gladiator podium area, obstacle race and the deepest ball pit I’ve been in. I certainly worked up a sweat racing Mini across the obstacle race. To cool down we all popped to the on site café for a drink, the slushies went down a treat.
Feeling refreshed, Mini went off to try to complete the wipeout ball challenge. She was absolutely fearless and jumped between them with ease, showing lots of the grown ups (including me) how it was done.
We all really enjoyed our time at Inflatanation, with a 6 years age gap between the children it can be hard to find activities suitable for both of them. This was perfect, we were all able to join in and play together as a family. It would also make a great rainy day activity.
There really is something for everyone on offer on the Inflatanation timetable. There are Inflata-fit fitness classes as well as grown up only sessions of offer. Additionally there are also sessions suitable for those on the autistic spectrum with fewer people per session and quieter music.
Inflatanation gets a big seal of approval from Team Mack. It was a great session, lots of family fun and will definitely be a place we would love to visit again.
