On a cold January weekend it can be very tempting to stay wrapped up warm inside all day. However, we were all getting a bit grumpy so decided to get out for some fresh air. We decided to head to Woodgate Valley Country Park. Even though it’s only 10 minutes away we haven’t fully explored the park before.
We have booked a holiday to Holland for the Summer and are determined to get Mini riding her bike without stabilisers before then. It will be great for us all to enjoy family bike rides together. I’d heard that there were plenty of flat paths at Woodgate Valley Country Park so thought it would be an ideal place to practice.
I was also kindly sent a new mobile phone from Three to put to the test, I received the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
I love my Canon M100 for taking pictures for my blog. Although it’s pretty compact having a phone with a decent camera would also be really handy when out and about, especially when carrying Baby Mack in his sling. I love capturing snapshots of our days out and family fun and especially wanted to put the camera to the test for those candid moments.
I popped Baby Mack into the sling and he was fast asleep within minutes. Mr Mack and Mini set to work with bike practice, I followed along, careful to not get run over. She started off quite wobbly and was struggling to balance. However, within half an hour she was able to ride a short way, with a bit of help to push off.
She quickly became more confident and tested out going a little quicker. Considering that we took her out last week and she really was struggling, the difference this week was huge. She was really proud of herself that she could ride a short section. I used the phone to capture action shots of her practicing and the quality is great, even when she was moving at speed.
I also used the video mode to capture a little ride sequence. She loved showing the video to Nanny and Grandad afterwards. The next focus is to practice on starting and stopping but for now has made great progress.
The long flat paths at Woodgate Valley Country Park definitely helped. It was quite quiet at the park too so we weren’t worried about her crashing into others. We will definitely come here again for more practice and to enjoy the park.
When Mini had decided she’d done enough bike riding practice she wanted to explore the adventure playground. Mr Mack agreed to take her to play, whilst Baby Mack and I went on a longer walk to see what else there was too see at Woodgate Valley Country Park. I enjoyed taking pictures of nature and liked spotting the different shapes and colours of the trees. I’m sure the park would look even more beautiful on a sunny day. We had a lovely afternoon out and it was all totally free.
I was impressed that I managed to clock up 8,000 steps on my walk. Although I forgot how hot I can get when wearing baby, and was ready to take him off by the end. Baby Mack slept the whole time, he must have been super snug and cosy in the carrier.
When I got home I enjoyed looking through the pictures that I’d taken. The quality was fantastic, they were all very sharp and clear. I haven’t edited any of the photos in this post, they have been directly uploaded to demonstrate the quality. I like the AI mode on the camera, it automatically detects what you are taking a picture of and adjusts the settings accordingly to get amazing images. The photos in portrait mode are great too, it blurs the background slightly for a really lovely effect.
I loved the photos that I took and am looking forward to testing out the rest of the features on the phone.
